Batavia Castle is a vital part of Jakarta's early history, yet it remains largely unknown to the general public. Information about it appears only briefly in school lessons, without in-depth explanation. Conversely, historical communities such as the Cultural Exploration Community actively promote the site through cultural tours. The community's leader, Kartum Setiawan, stated that the ruins of the city walls and the remains of Batavia Castle are attractive destinations for historical exploration.

One important part of this area is the east side warehouse, which is currently in a deplorable state. The main issues are ownership status and changes in function. Several years ago, the Jakarta Provincial Government conducted archaeological excavations there for physical studies, but because the land is under the jurisdiction of the Indonesian Army, the government cannot directly manage it. This contrasts with the Maritime Museum, which is under the management of the Provincial Government and is now well-maintained.

The Cultural Exploration Community itself does not have the authority to restore the site, but continues to strive to educate the public through cultural tours. Kartum hopes that as more visitors visit, the owners and managers will be encouraged to open access or utilize the building, for example as an open-air museum or gallery. He believes that preserving historical sites requires the involvement of all stakeholders, including government, the private sector, communities, and the public, to ensure the city's heritage is not forgotten.
