The Jakarta Provincial Government is currently preparing a major event titled "Indonesian Cultural Festival," which will be held on a large scale in the Car Free Day (CFD) area on Jalan Thamrin-Sudirman. This festival is part of a long series leading up to Jakarta's 500th anniversary celebrations, which will culminate on June 22, 2027.

Launching in June 2025, the festival is designed to be a regular event, featuring various performances involving approximately 1,000 participants per performance. Beyond entertainment, the celebration will also include a variety of activities, including public discussions, women's empowerment, green initiatives, arts and cultural performances, and sports.

Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government is currently working with various communities to ensure the success of the event. "We are currently preparing to mobilize arts, culture, sports, and other communities to enliven the Thamrin-Sudirman CFD," he said during a gathering with the City Hall and Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council (Balkoters) Journalist Coordinator, accompanied by several relevant officials.

This festival is not just a celebration, but also an important moment to embrace all levels of society, while celebrating the diversity and progress that Jakarta has achieved over the past five centuries.
