The title of this exhibition was chosen because Jakarta is more than just a city, but a living space that holds thousands of interconnected stories. Tales of hope, struggle, and love grow on every street corner. This exhibition honors Jakarta as a vibrant center of culture, history, and urban life. In this exhibition, the artists present works that depict the richness of Betawi culture and the dynamics of Jakarta's life.

Celebrating Jakarta Through Batik and Ceramics

One of the main highlights of this exhibition is the work of Mrs. Siti Laela, a preserver of Betawi batik from Terogong. She has been pursuing the art of batik since 2012. Starting from concern about the fading of batik culture among the Betawi community, she founded Batik Betawi Terogong as an effort to preserve cultural heritage. For Mrs. Siti Laela, batik is not just an art, but a manifestation of love and commitment to Betawi culture so that it remains alive and widely known. The collection of hand-drawn and stamped batik that she presents showcases the richness of local motifs such as ondel-ondel and typical Jakarta flora. In addition to being able to enjoy, these batik works are also available for visitors to own.

Presenting decorative and functional ceramic works. Using clay as the medium, they explore elements of Betawi culture and Jakartan life in a contemporary style, bridging past heritage with contemporary realities.

The Atmosphere of Old Jakarta in Every Corner of the Gallery
