Jakarta's Car Free Day (CFD), held regularly every Sunday morning along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, has now evolved into more than just a vehicle-free sports event. Starting in 2025, the Jakarta Provincial Government initiated monthly cultural activities at CFD as part of preparations for Jakarta's 500th anniversary in 2027. These cultural performances feature various attractions, including a pencak silat flash mob involving thousands of participants in the Bundaran HI and Monas areas.

Furthermore, CFD also serves as a platform for international tourism promotion, as seen in April 2025 when the Taiwan Tourism Administration held a tourism promotion event using 3D LED billboards and featuring environmental figures as special guests. CFD Jakarta also serves as a space for local communities, such as Operation Ant, which regularly cleans up trash around the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout to educate the public on the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

MSMEs often take advantage of this opportunity to promote their products, although adjustments are made during Ramadan. Combining sports, cultural activities, environmental education, and local economic promotion, Jakarta's CFD continues to grow as a city icon, combining environmental, social, and cultural awareness in one car-free public space.
