Jakarta, July 8, 2025 – The Deputy Governor of Jakarta visited the "Cerita Kita di Jakarta (Our Stories in Jakarta)" exhibition at 2Madison Gallery in Kemang. He was accompanied by Head of the DKI Jakarta Cultural Department and other members of his entourage.

The Deputy Governor's arrival was warmly welcomed by gallery staff and the exhibition organizing team. He expressed his appreciation for the growing presence of arts and cultural activities in Jakarta in recent months.
"In recent months, cultural activities have been very prominent in Jakarta, including painting and dance. One of our goals is to make Jakarta a culturally vibrant global city. Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government strongly supports various arts and cultural activities, both traditional and modern. This will be part of the cultural calendar leading up to Jakarta's 500th anniversary in 2027. That's why we're here to support it. Overall, I really enjoyed this exhibition," said the Deputy Governor.

During the visit, he took the time to explore the artworks on display, such as paintings with the theme of Jakarta City, a collection of Betawi batik by Mrs. Siti Laela, and ceramic crafts with the theme of Jakarta culture by Tanah Liat 9. He also chatted with ceramic artists and the Manager of 2Madison who explained the works on display.

He also expressed his admiration for the exhibition's atmosphere, which was so imbued with Betawi culture. "The euphoria of this exhibition was deeply rooted in Betawi culture. I'm amazed that an exhibition with such a cultural theme can exist in the Kemang area. This is an indicator that Betawi culture has great potential for further exploration, and it presents an opportunity for us to continue developing," he added.

At the end of the visit, the Deputy Governor sampled authentic Betawi dishes and drinks prepared by the 2Madison Cafe team. As a token of his support, he also purchased paintings and batik fabrics on display.
This visit demonstrates the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to encouraging the growth of the arts and cultural ecosystem in the capital, while simultaneously strengthening local identity towards a more cultured and inclusive Jakarta.
