Lutfi Yanuar, a Bandung-born artist who has been involved in the art world since 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bandung Institute of Technology (graduated cum laude in 2017). He developed his artistic practice from life experiences that spanned between the city of Bandung and the rural areas of Kebumen Regency. This cross-spatial experience shaped Lutfi's interest in exploring diverse ethical and aesthetic values, bringing together cultural, natural, and contemporary elements in his visual practice.
In his works, Lutfi often depicts human existence, both socially and ecologically. He is known for his eclectic approach, combining texture, embroidery, and ink as a method that is not only visual but also conceptual. He gives meaning to the methods and materials he chooses, positioning art not only as a messenger but also as the message itself.
