The Big Five Personality Traits theory, also known as the OCEAN model , is one of the most influential approaches in personality psychology. Developed through numerous factor analysis studies, the theory encompasses five main dimensions that broadly describe an individual's personality.
Openness
This dimension reflects the extent to which a person is imaginative, curious, and open to new ideas and experiences. Individuals with high scores are typically creative and have broad intellectual interests.
Conscientiousness
This trait relates to levels of discipline, responsibility, and goal orientation. Individuals high on this dimension tend to be organized, conscientious, and reliable.

Extraversion

Agreeableness
This dimension reflects a person's level of cooperation, empathy, and kindness. Individuals high in this dimension tend to be warm and conflict-averse.
Neuroticism
Describes a person's emotional stability. High scores indicate a tendency toward anxiety, emotional instability, and mood swings.

The Big Five model is widely used in various fields, including job selection, education, and clinical, because of its universal nature and empirical validity (John, Naumann, & Soto, 2008).
