It's called the "golden age" because it's the only period during which a child's brain is highly responsive to stimulation. Early childhood is capable of rapid learning, from speaking and imitating to responding to emotions and tone of voice. In fact, even while still in the womb, babies can hear and recognize their mother's voice.

However, many parents believe that sending their children to preschool or kindergarten is sufficient. However, a study in the journal DEVOTIONIS confirms that 75% of the responsibility for early childhood education lies with parents, not schools. The WHO, UNICEF, and the World Bank also state that nurturing care—the attention, affection, and sense of security from parents—plays a direct role in a child's brain development and character.
